Thank you so much for the sharing, I agree with other people's comment: this is a great extension and it's very easy to set up in Joomla.

However, I uploaded two videos (same video in two formats): .flv and .mp4

FLV doesn't play at all, MP4 plays only sound, no pictures.

I created the video through "General Upload"

What could be the problem?

Regarding FLV Playback issue,

Could you get the screenshot of your FLV Video form. It will be more convenient, if you could send me your Joomla admin details to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Regarding MP4 Playback issue,

I found your video file contain incompatible Video Codec. Kindly re-encode your Video using Handbrake .

I used the tool you recommended to convert the video into a mp4 and uploaded again, it can't even be created, as you can see, the "Video/Mandarin" section still shows only 2 videos.

I thought it might be because the user I logged in to upload the video is not a super admin, so I logged out and tried again using super admin, the 4th time upload still failed!

I come to the conclusion that at least Joomla 2.5 doesn't accept videos converted by the tool!

I have re-encoded the same video using Handbrake and added to the site.

But still, I found an issue with the Video. The Video start playing only after it is completely loaded. I have a solution for it too...

Solution :

If your MP4 files cannot be seeked before they are completely downloaded, you will have to fix the MOOV atom (it contains the seeking information) located at the end of your video. Use this little application to parse your videos and add the necessary cue points.

Note : Kindly remember, the issue is with your Video file and not with the Player.

Regarding the FLV Playback,

I found the FLV video is not uploaded correctly. Kindly fix it and remember to add a slug-name in english.
