Joomla core search was created by JimBits

Our client has several "Videos Layout" pages. When using the Joomla core search module, it results in a URL that reflects the first "Videos Layout" alias that we created (china-videos), even if that video is related to another group / category. For example, a search for a video from Colombia results in www.DOMAIN.com/ china-videos/video/CUSTOM-COLOMBIA-VIDEO-URL rather than www.DOMAIN.com/ colombia-videos/video/CUSTOM-COLOMBIA-VIDEO-URL. When I disabled the menu item for the China videos, the search results defaulted to the next "Videos Layout" menu item we had created. Is there a way to configure the All Video Search plugin so that it looks for the video via the Videos Layout page where it is located?
Additionally, aliases appear to be inter-changeable. Regardless of what page the video is in, we can type in another alias and the same video shows. For example, www.DOMAIN.com/ china-videos/video/CUSTOM-VIDEO-URL shows the same video (with the proper related videos) as www.DOMAIN.com/ colombia-videos/video/CUSTOM-VIDEO-URL or www.DOMAIN.com/ vietnam-videos/video/CUSTOM-VIDEO-URL. The Videos Layout aliases appear irrelevant. If the Videos Layout alias didn't show at all, that would suffice. But as long as a wrong alias can show, it causes confusion for people looking for Mexico videos which can show as being in the Eritrea category (for example).

I understood the issue here. At the moment, when creating a link for the videos in the search results, our router function search for the exact match(menu layout for the video) or the nearest match(any menu that uses our Videos layout). I think it would be better to also search if there is any menu created for the video's category. I promise our next version can do this. Alternatively, we have also plan to add a config option in the backend where you can select a common Menu to load the single video page. This way videos from any page/layout will be redirected to a particular menu item to display the video details. So, we can avoid duplicate URLs for videos. I promise our next version(End of August) will bring improvements on the URLs used by the extension. We request you to kindly be patient until that.

But, If you're a PRO user, kindly write us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your Order ID and this POST link. So, we can send you a patch immediately.
