Hi, I was wondering if there are any plans to display the duration with the thumbnail / title. My client prefers that, so I'm trying to come up with a workaround. Without editing the core files, I haven't found a way to do that just yet.

Yes, this is already in our roadmap. But, takes sometime. The only solution at the moment is to edit our core files.
